Come discover Antigua and Barbuda, Paradise in the Leeward Islands
Long before I got to this point, I've been fascinated with the whole idea of Antigua, spending time there, and eventually having a vacation/retirement home on the island.
Warm winds, great beaches, relaxed lifestyle...
As a Boomer born and living in the more eastern part of Canada where winter is relentless and endless, this fascination has a strong hold, more so lately, and this site is your opportunity to explore with me these islands, my grandparents' birthplace.
With every trip to this small Leeward Island country in the Eastern Caribbean I'll be updating you on discoveries, current events, tips and need to know information.
Antigua has much to offer:
- A glorious tropical vacation destination where the temperature varies little throughout the year.
- A country of friendly, helpful people.
- According to the locals, there are 365 beaches, one for every day of the year! As well, Frommer's Travel Guides ranks these beaches as some of the very best in the Caribbean.
- One of the more prosperous islands in the Eastern Caribbean.
- An offshore financial and investment centre.
If you follow the menu down the left side side you can check out various aspects of this Caribbean paradise, from how to get there and where to stay, to history, attractions, exciting seasonal events, local culture and food, as well as the slower-paced, more relaxed lifestyle for those who might want to stay long term...
